It’s been a hot sec since we did a puzzle from New York Puzzle Company – and with the Hogwarts Quidditch season upon us once more – we are breaking out the 1,000 piece Harry Potter Quidditch puzzle!
We have had a chaotic week this week, so we had a bit of a break before I had the mental space to pick out the next puzzle. I’m guessing that along with our usual breakdown when we start a puzzle, we’ll start attacking the tents on the stands first and perhaps the mountains and castle in the background. Those stick out to me as easily distinguishable from the remaining surrounding areas.
I have spent a bit of time trying to figure out which of the Gryffindor vs. Slytherin matches this is, and I don’t know exactly which one. I think it’s either from Book 1, pre-Malfoy being the Slytherin seeker, or from book six, when Malfoy begs off “sick” and someone else seeks that match for him. There are very few options for which match it could be.
As I’ve mentioned before, my love of Harry Potter does not extend to the author, who holds stances that are unacceptable in a truly equal and loving society. It still boggles my mind that someone who could write such great allegory to fighting racism and teaching critical thinking to millions of children can hold such a stance. It makes it a lot harder to enjoy the characters who have meant so much to me.
I am looking forward to the weird cut pieces and the fun linen-y finish they have as well.
Stay Puzzled!
