Alright, it’s been far too long since we’ve kicked off a new puzzle. Up next for us is “Color on the Mountain” by Buffalo Games.
The puzzle doesn’t seem to be in production anymore. We’re doing the 1000-piece version but apparently there was a cropped 300-piece version as well.
Jenny and I normally alternate puzzle selections and write up the puzzles we pick ourselves. This one is one of her picks but I’m writing it up.
She’d wanted to go with something spooky for October, and we do want to do our “The Stories of Josh Malerman” puzzle again, but given the extremely prominent Aurora we’ve been seeing around here lately, this also seemed appropriate. Additionally, after our anniversary puzzle didn’t work out so well, we wanted something with a personal connection and it was around this time of year that we went to Iceland for our honeymoon where we tried (but mostly failed) to see the Northern Lights.
I’m curious as to how this one will work out. There are some big solid blocks of color and those have been causing trouble for us lately. This is not the style of puzzle we usually go for. But it’s a very pretty design and we’re excited to get started.
