Wrap Up: The Book Palace

Well, it’s been a while since you’ve heard from me! Clark’s been taking point on the blog writing and puzzle choosing lately because I’m so busy.

It’s also been a bit since we sat down and did a puzzle in a day, but that’s exactly what happened with The Book Palace by Ravensburger. We had hoped to be doing a puzzle of our own, but due to various delays we didn’t get it in time for the holiday weekend. No matter though, this was a really fun puzzle!

We started it Sunday morning after breakfast, spending several hours before taking a break for other things we wanted to get done around the house. We kept going back to it throughout the day, and then spent about two hours finishing it up around 11pm.

We sorted the pieces, and started with the border as we usually do. The border was, honestly harder than I expected. We also had missed a couple edge pieces in our sorting, which definitely didn’t help!

Clark worked on the ceiling while I worked on the chandelier and the two pink chairs. I worked on the post card carousel when he moved onto more of the upstairs, and the giant window at the back. Even colorful as this is, the books were harder than I thought (Clark disagrees). I had assumed the color matching would be straightforward – it was not always so.

I bought this puzzle for myself as a birthday gift earlier this year, and I was excited to do it because I love reading. Literacy and reading and books are huge cornerstones in our household, and so we do love a good book themed puzzle – even creating two of our own book centered puzzle designs! I work part time in two different libraries (see the above of me being busy) and I post as @jenny_bean_reads on IG as well as at jennybeanreads.com.

This is definitely a keep to do again type of puzzle, and I look forward to doing again!

Stay puzzled!
